Every April, DECA members all ask themselves the same overwhelming question: what should I pack for #DECAICDC? While you want to make sure you don’t underpack for ICDC, you also don’t want to be the person who packs 13+ bags to Atlanta. Luckily, Wisconsin DECA has created the ULTIMATE #DECAICDC PACKING LIST, which will give you what you exactly need to pack to ensure your ICDC experience will be limitless! Feel free to use this list for yourself or share it with a new chapter member. Here it is:

Clothing (make sure to look at the forecast when you pack!):

  • 3 or 4 professional dress ensembles (realize that 3 of those outfits will be for competition and a DECA Blazer is required - try to avoid mixing black and navy if you can!)
  • DECA Blazer (this is a must!)
  • 5 everyday outfits for Six Flags, walking around Atlanta, hotel time (feel free to wear a lot of DECA shirts)
  • 2 travel outfits
  • Pajamas
  • Socks and undergarments
  • Nylons
  • Ties
  • Jewelry/Belts/Watches
  • Swimsuit for the hotel pool


  • Any dress shoes you may need
  • Walking shoes for casual wear
  • Flip flops for the pool (or Crocs, whatever makes you happiest)


  • Toothbrush/paste
  • Hair brush/comb
  • Shampoo and conditioner
  • Hair straighteners/curlers
  • Cologne/perfume
  • Deodorant
  • Makeup
  • Hair product
  • Sunscreen

Competition Materials:

  • Student ID or Driver’s license (you NEED to bring this to compete)
  • Boards and visual aids
  • Study materials
  • Pencil/pens
  • Any good luck charms or lucky socks


  • Food for the bus/plane
  • Pillow and blanket for traveling
  • Advil
  • Electronics & chargers
  • Headphones
  • Homework
  • Activities and games for the bus
  • Refillable water bottle
  • Money for souvenirs, Shop DECA products, and food
  • Tide sticks
  • Lint rollers
  • Band Aids (just in case you get blisters)
  • Purse or bag
  • Selfie stick
  • Any Starbucks gift cards you have (trust me, you’ll need them)

By packing all of the things on this list, you will not overpack (or underpack) and ensure that your time in Atlanta will be #limitless!
