Hey, Wisconsin DECA! One of the most rewarding parts about Wisconsin DECA is the community service it offers and supports. I am incredibly honored and excited to lead Wisconsin DECA through a year of giving back as your 2026-2027 Vice President of Community Service. I’m looking forward to encouraging chapters to enhance local connections and make a powerful and lasting impact throughout their school and community. During my term, I am determined to connect chapters to local organizations and stimulate the drive to help those in their community.
I plan to achieve my goals through these initiatives:
-Expanding awareness about community service events through the use of social media and the Community Service Guide
-Streamlining communication about community service events through the Community Service Center
-Informing Leadership Council (LC) and Ambassadors about upcoming community service events to increase support and participation
-Highlighting chapters that participate in outstanding community service events through the Chapter of the Month program
-Maintaining strong relationships with community service partners (MDA, Make-A-Wish, and Special Olympics) while connecting representatives to local chapters
-Speaking out on the importance of mental health awareness through a video series, encouraging the support of local mental health organizations, and executing a state-wide Mental Health Matters project
-Fostering connections beyond our communities through the Beyond the Blazer series
-Raising over $100,000 as a chartered association
Mental health is an essential part of every member’s success, and no DECA member should feel like they have to face challenges alone. It’s important that we create an environment where members feel supported both personally and professionally. Through a video series, I will be sharing messages from professionals that encourage meaningful conversations for members. Alongside this initiative, I want to take mental health awareness to the next level through leading a statewide Mental Health Matters project. By normalizing conversations about mental health and providing opportunities for members to support themselves and others in their community, we can strengthen our organization and remind every member that they belong.
Connection is a vital part of community service. Through the Beyond the Blazer series, I want to help members connect by showcasing chapters, highlighting unique service projects, and sharing stories of members who are incredibly “DECAcaded.” This platform will allow thousands of Wisconsin DECA members to connect and share their ideas. I’m excited to grow this initiative andsee all the connections that grow along with it.
Wisconsin DECA, I am beyond excited to work with you all and see the countless accomplishments our association will achieve. I am so grateful for the opportunity to help build strong connections between our chapters and community service partners. I can’t wait for this experience on Team 61 and to support everyone and their #NextBigThing this year!
