What’s up Wisconsin DECA! I’m beyond excited to serve as your Vice President of Membership Development this year. To me, membership development is about preparing members for their future by helping them develop valuable interpersonal and professional skills. One of the biggest parts of achieving that vision is recognition. Wisconsin DECA members are doing amazing things in their chapters, schools, and communities, and they deserve to be celebrated for it. That’s why I’m excited to continue Member of the Month, recognizing members who go above and beyond through leadership, initiative, and service.

I also want to help members build stronger connections across our association. Through Alumni Connect, members will hear from alumni and see the many different ways DECA has shaped their success after high school. Along with that, I’ll be launching an internal mentorship program that helps members connect with one another, build relationships across Wisconsin DECA, and create a support system where students can learn and grow together.

I’m also excited to introduce a new, reimagined season of the The Big Picture podcast centered around the defining experiences of our speakers and the lessons that came from them. By breaking down the moments that changed their perspectives, members will hear real stories, reflect on new ideas, and walk away with lessons they can apply in their own lives.

To support chapters directly, I’ll also refine the Membership Guide filled with practical ideas to help chapters grow membership, strengthen their presence, and expand their impact within their schools and communities.

This year, I plan to focus on these main goals:
-recognizing members who make an impact
-building stronger connections through alumni and mentorship
-creating opportunities for reflection, learning, and growth
-giving chapters tools to strengthen membership and influence

I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve Wisconsin DECA in this role, and I can’t wait to see what we accomplish together this year. Wisconsin DECA has such a bright future, and I’m excited to help make it even stronger!
